FAQ's

Compatibility

Is this a DIY tool, or is it also suitable for bike shops?
  • Ninety percent of our current customers are small bike shops or one-man-show mechanics. A typical setup for professional suspension service includes the full set of adapters, four tanks, and oil hoses for quick switching between oils, along with the tamper station to keep everything neatly organized.
  • Bike shops that work with automated bleeders appreciate our robust adapters that are compatible with the larger machines.
  • Private users usually select only the specific adapters they need, along with about two tanks and hoses.
Which components can be serviced?

Here is the list of currently available components. If yours is not included, please send us an e-mail and we will find a way to make it possible.

How do I know which adapter is the right one?

Pick your brand and model in our adapter shop — the matching one is shown instantly. Or you try out our Wizzard.

Does servicing impact the guarantee of my component?

Guarantees vary between manufacturers, typically lasting one to two years, and cover only material and manufacturing defects—not how the damper is treated during storage, riding, or servicing. Proper care usually extends the lifespan. Special tools and consumables for major servicing are freely available from the manufacturer.

Timing

How long does the vacuum bleeding itself take ?

About 15- 20 Minutes, depending on how many iterations are needed

How long will it take me to service a damper or a fork?

When you do it for the first time, it may take a little longer. Overall, we recommend setting aside 3-4 hours for your first fork or damper. You may be faster, depending on the model you have. Find an extended answer here.

Workwise

What exactly does the Vacuum Bleeder do?

The Vacuum Bleeder allows you to refill your cleaned component with fresh oil in a clean cycle, degas the oil, and remove any air, which has a high impact on the performance of your damper.

What do i need to get started?
  • The Vacuum Bleeder
  • At least on tank and oil hose
  • Adapters that fit the component syou want to service

Additionally you`ll need:

  • The service manual for your component.
  • Basic tools and oils as listed in your manual.
  • A service kit of fresh seals for your model.
  • About 3 hours of time per component.
What is the difference to hand bleeding?

The mess, the effort, and the result! Hand bleeding is quite a pain, and the success rate is low. It's rare to get all the air out, and impossible to degas the oil. Furthermore precise tuning requires specific pressure settings from the manufacturer. Read more in this Know-How Post.

How do I clean the Vaccuum Bleeder?

Different components require different oils. Therefore, our transparent tank can be easily removed and cleaned with mild detergent. You can also use multiple tanks, each assigned to a specific oil, eliminating the need for cleaning.
